Nous avons commencé les travaux de notre nouveau lieu de culte à Perpignan. Vous pouvez suivre ici l’évolution des travaux. Nous tâcherons d’actualiser les photos au fur et à mesure de l’avancée des travaux. Nous sommes reconnaissants pour l’aide de plusieurs, dont certains très qualifiés, pour nous permettre de réussir ce projet. Voici, ci-dessous la première étape:
Démontage de la mezzanine, préparation des fondations, coulage des fondations, montage des murs en parpaings, préparation de la plomberie.

We have started the reconstruction of our new church building in Perpignan! You can follow us along the way right here on our website. We will try to keep you up to date with pictures as the work continues. We are thankful for several people’s help, including some very qualified people, which permits us to do the job correctly.
Here below is our first big step: tearing down the old wooden mezzanine, preparing and pouring the ciment foundations for the supporting walls for the new mezzanine, building the cinder block supporting walls, and preparing the plumbing.

Nous sommes maintenant à 15 jours de travaux intensifs, et venons tout juste de finir le plancher béton. La grâce de Dieu nous accompagne, du fait de vos prières, dans cette oeuvre titanesque pour des amateurs. Mais nous avons un chef de chantier dépendant du Seigneur, efficace et compétent ! Ainsi nous avons pu finir le traçage, le coffrage, le ferraillage, les pieuvres électriques, et finalement le coulage du plancher ainsi que l’escalier menant au premier étage.
We have now been intensely working for 15 days and today we just finished the cement floor of the mezzanine. Because of your prayers, God’s grace is with us in this huge work for us amateurs. But we also have an efficient and competent construction foreman that is dependant on the Lord! And so, in 15 days, we have been able to finish the tracing, formwork, iron framework, electricity, and finally pouring the concrete floor of the mezzanine and the stairs leading up to the mezzanine.

Nous venons d’achever notre troisième semaine intensive de travaux. Le lendemain du coulage de la mezzanine, montage des murs destinés à porter le deuxième escalier. Réfection de l’étanchéité des murs de la salle de culte. Isolation, puis coulage d’une partie de la salle de culte. Préparation de l’escalier en vue du coulage. Préparation des deux poteaux encadrant la futur entrée du bâtiment.
Nous avons donc encore devant nous un peu de gros oeuvre. C’est à dire le coulage des escaliers menant au dernier étage, le coulage des deux poteaux de l’entrée, et le coulage de la dalle du rez de chaussée sous l’ensemble de la mezzanine. Nous sommes très reconnaissants pour Nikolaï venu nous aider pour ces travaux. En trois semaines, nous avons fait ce que des amateurs auraient fait en trois mois! 🙂 Gloire à Dieu!
We just finished our third week of intensive construction work. The day after pouring the concrete for the mezzanine, we started building the supporting walls for the 2nd flight of stairs. We also had to do some repair work on waterproofing the walls in the future sanctuary, then insulating the floor before leveling it out with a new layer of concrete. We also prepared the second flight of stairs that is still waiting to be finished off with concrete. And finally, we prepared two posts on either side of our future entryway.
So we still have some heavy construction work ahead of us: pouring the concrete for the 2nd flight of stairs, for the two posts in the entryway, and finishing off leveling the floor of the future sanctuary that is under the mezzanine. We are so thankful for Nikolaï that came to help us for all of this work! In three weeks we were able to accomplish what us amateurs would have done in three months! Praise the Lord!

Nous venons de reprendre les travaux pour quelques jours. Au programme, coulage à la main du deuxième escalier menant au dernier niveau. Puis agrandissement de la trémie pour cette escalier. De nouveau beaucoup de gravats à vider à la déchetterie… Raymond a renforcé les murs abîmés de la salle de culte.
We just started working again on the building for a few days. We hand poured the concrete for the second flight of stairs that leads to the rooftop. Then we enlarged the floor opening in this stairwell. We once again have a ton of rocks and rubble to take to the dump. Raymond also reinforced the damaged walls in the future sanctuary.

Nous avons pu commencer à décoffrer. La mezzanine est maintenant sèche et le gros oeuvre qui s’approche de la fin. Nous devons encore faire la dalle de l’entrée et les pièces qui donnent sur le hall. Toilettes handicapé, pièce pour enfant, et couloir…
We have started taking off the wooden framework. The mezzanine is now dry and the heavy construction work is almost finished. We still need to level out the flooring in the entryway and the other rooms downstairs like the handicapped bathroom, the nursery and the hallway.

Le travail de ces dernières semaines fut de réparer le plafond, avancer la plomberie, poser les pieuvres électriques, poser la structure des murs très abîmés pour ensuite mettre l’isolation. Nous avons pu commencer la pose placo-plâtre. Nous continuons la dalle dans l’entrée, et avons pu enlever tous les étais en place. La cage d’escalier du second est maintenant libre. Nous pourrons poser bientôt le tableau électrique. Merci pour les prières.
These past few weeks we have repared the ceiling, continued the plumbing, installed some electrical cables and installed a metal structure on the most damaged walls before putting up the insulation. We have started to install the plasterboard as well. We continued to even out the ciment floor in the entryway and we were able to take off the metal bars that had supported the ciment stairs while they were drying. Now the second flight of stairs is completely done. We will soon starting putting in the electric panel. Thank you for your prayers.

Nous avons reçu les portes de secours et d’entrée. L’isolation et le placoplâtre de deux murs sur quatre est bientôt terminé. Le branchement au tableau électrique est lui aussi presque achevé. La chape du hall d’entrée, et des toilettes handicapées sont finies. Le gros oeuvre est on peut dire derrière nous. Nous sommes reconnaissants pour le travail accompli par la grâce de Dieu.
We recently received the emergency exit doors and the main entry door. We have almost finished installing the insulation and the plasterboard on two out of four walls in the sanctuary. We have almost finished connecting all of the electrical wires to the control board as well. We just finished leveling the floor in the foyer and the handicapped bathroom. We can finally say that the heavy construction work is behind us! We are thankful for all the work that has been accomplished by God’s grace.

Après avoir posé les portes d’entrée et de secours, nous avons reçu l’aide d’un couple américain. En trois semaines, l’ensemble des cloisons, doublages, et faux plafonds ont été faits presque partout. Nous entrons dans la phase de ponçage et bandes…
